  1. Do course participants wear their Scout uniform at all times during the course?

Yes, wearing the proper uniform is a part of the Eagle week program. The class A (field) uniform is worn at breakfast and dinner. At all other times participants may wear their class B (activity) uniform. The following table describes the class A (field) and Class B (activity) uniforms for the Eagle week program.

Class A (Field) Uniform Class B (Activity) Uniform
    • Beige scout shirt with all the proper insignia
    • Boots or sneakers
    • Scout shorts
    • Scout socks (bring several pairs!)
    • Watch
    • Water bottle
    • Scout belt (web or leather with scout buckle)
    • Scouting Tee-shirt
    • Boots or sneakers
    • Scout shorts
    • Scout socks (bring several pairs!)
    • Watch
    • Water bottle
    • Scout belt (web or leather with scout buckle)

Knowing that cost can be a factor for many scouting families, consider these options for getting official Scout pants. Check eBay or other online sources for "experienced" pants at minimal cost, or think about borrowing these items from another scout (hopefully about the same size as your scout) in your troop.

The medical form is available on the Camp Squanto website at http://www.campsquanto.net/docs/leadersguide/Medical.pdf. A Scout cannot stay at the camp without the medical form. The OCC-Eagle week staff may not allow a Scout on course unless a Doctor signed medical form has been submitted.

Note: The camp does not retain medical forms from previous weeks at camp. The forms go back to the scoutmaster. Every scout must bring their own copy of the medical form to camp for OCC-Eagle week.

If participants complete the record keeping requirements (for example, records for personal management) or other time requirements (for example, days/nights requirements for camping) IN ADVANCE of Eagle week and bring A LETTER FROM THEIR SCOUTMASTER identifying the completed requirements, even the these badges may be completed during the week. 17. How are medications handled?

The Camp Squanto nurse meets with scouts when the scouts check into camp. At check in, all medications are turned over to the nurse. Medications must arrive in their original containers with clear instructions on dosage. All medications will be held by the nurse during the week except for bee sting kits and asthma inhalers. It will be the scout's responsibility to get his medications when needed. OCC-Eagle week does this for Health and Safety reasons. If you have more questions about this please contact the OCC-Eagle week staff. At the end of the week when the Scout is picked up from camp their parent(s) can pick up the medications from the medic.

Do not bring over-the-counter medications to camp (for example, aspirin, vitamins, etc.); any over-the-counter items needed by scouts are available from the nurse at camp.

They spend the week teaching the most challenging merit badges in the Scouting program, guiding the participants on their trail to Eagle rank.
