Here is a list of the questions and answers on this page:
Do course participants wear their Scout uniform at all times during the course?
Yes, wearing the proper uniform is a part of the Eagle week program. The class A (field) uniform is worn at breakfast and dinner. At all other times participants may wear their class B (activity) uniform. The following table describes the class A (field) and Class B (activity) uniforms for the Eagle week program.

Knowing that cost can be a factor for many scouting families, consider these options for getting official Scout pants. Check eBay or other online sources for "experienced" pants at minimal cost, or think about borrowing these items from another scout (hopefully about the same size as your scout) in your troop.

Parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, etc. are all welcome to come to Camp Squanto for the closing ceremony. Please arrive at Camp Squanto at 6:00pm on Friday and meet at the amphitheater. For those with mobility needs, please notify the Scoutmaster so that arrangements can be made for transport to the ceremony. After the graduation ceremony and feast are completed, scouts and guests are free to go.

A completed, signed BSA Class 3 medical form is required for course
attendance! This policy and form are the same as used for all attending
Camp Squanto. The medical form is available on the Camp Squanto website at
http://www.campsquanto.net/docs/leadersguide/Medical.pdf.
A Scout cannot stay at the camp without the medical form. The OCC-Eagle week staff
may not allow a Scout on course unless a Doctor signed medical form has been
submitted.
Note: The camp does not retain
medical forms from previous weeks at camp. The forms go back to the scoutmaster.
Every scout must bring their own copy of the medical form to camp for OCC-Eagle
week.
Bring sturdy hiking boots or sneakers! Camp Squanto is a place where you must have good footwear in order to survive the week. Protective footwear is required for the health and safety of the participants and staff. Sandals are not acceptable footwear. The Scouts are encouraged to bring shower shoes for the showers, however, during any other time of the week boots or sneakers are required ! Please be advised, the Hiking merit badge class requires sturdy hiking boots, and Cycling merit badge class requires stiff-soled shoes (sneaker are okay). This policy is for the health and safety of everyone. Get the equipment list here.
Every minute (and more!) of OCC-Eagle week program time is schedule with no extra, "free" time scheduled. Activities in the afternoon and evening are set up for the full troop. Everyone participates ... there are no options.
Yes, except for the merit badges with record keeping or other time requirements! Participants are able to complete all of the requirements for merit badges offered during Eagle week. It takes some dedication and focus to complete the writing intensive badges, but participants have shown a track record of successful completion year after year. If participants complete the record keeping requirements (for example, records for personal management) or other time requirements (for example, days/nights requirements for camping) IN ADVANCE of Eagle week and bring A LETTER FROM THEIR SCOUTMASTER identifying the completed requirements, even the these badges may be completed during the week. Remember, OCC-Eagle week is not summer camp . The objective of OCC-Eagle week is to focus on completing Eagle required merit badges.
There is no need for the participants to bring any food. Scouts should not bring any food with them to OCC-Eagle week! All the meals are provided for them. If Scouts are hungry in between meals, the staff will have snacks (fruit, crackers, other healthy snack items).
Please note, if the Scout has any food allergies it is vital the Scout and the parents inform the OCC-Eagle week staff before the course starts!
Skunks, possums, ticks and other wildlife are often found in camp during OCC-Eagle week. The OCC-Eagle week staff prepares for this as we teach the Scouts from the minute they arrive at Camp Squanto how to live at camp.

The Camp Squanto nurse meets with scouts when the scouts check into camp. At check in, all medications are turned over to the nurse. Medications must arrive in their original containers with clear instructions on dosage. All medications will be held by the nurse during the week except for bee sting kits and asthma inhalers. It will be the scout's responsibility to get his medications when needed. OCC-Eagle week does this for Health and Safety reasons. If you have more questions about this please contact the OCC-Eagle week staff. At the end of the week when the Scout is picked up from camp their parent(s) can pick up the medications from the medic.
Do not bring over-the-counter medications to camp (for example, aspirin, vitamins, etc.); any over-the-counter items needed by scouts are available from the nurse at camp.
If you are an adult leader and merit badge counselor, the council training staff needs you to help with OCC-Eagle week! We are always looking for adult leaders. Please contact the OCC-Eagle week staff and tell us who you are and how you would like to participate as an adult leader for OCC-Eagle week.
The Staff spends at least a substantial amount of time preparing for camp. They plan their merit badge classes and activities based on proven effective Eagle week program. They arrive at Camp Squanto before the participants to set up the camp. They spend the week teaching the most challenging merit badges in the Scouting program, guiding the participants on their trail to Eagle rank.
