Preparing the Program

How should you prepare for the Eagle Week program?

Pre-Course Steps

Follow these steps:

  1. Register well in advance of the course deadline, so you can get one of the limited number of openings!
  2. Complete your BSA class 3 medical form to bring with you to the course.

Note: The camp does NOT retain these forms from previous weeks at camp. After those weeks, the forms go back to the scoutmasters. Each scout must bring their own copy of the medical form to Eagle week.

  3. Pack carefully all of the required items on the equipment list.
  4. Check the Frequently Asked Questions page to make sure that you are prepared with the required information and equipment for your merit badge classes.
  5. Take a little time to think about what you want to BE and DO in scouting; these thoughts have a lot of application on your trail to Eagle.
  6. Complete any pre-work require for merit badges that you want to complete at camp.

Note: A number of Eagle required merit badges have requirement that CANNOT be completed just during your stay at Eagle week. These requirements (record keeping, visits/tours, family interaction, etc. ...) may be completed (with your Scoutmaster's sign-off) before Eagle week. Completing these out-of-camp experience requirements in advance will help you meet your goal of completing your merit badges at camp. Where applicable, use the links to the U.S. Scouting Service Project website to get record keeping worksheets for these merit badges.
